Position Summary: The Compensation Specialist is responsible for
providing analytical and project management support for the
company's compensation programs. This includes participating in
compensation surveys, analyzing market data and job descriptions,
producing reports, and participating in departmental projects to
support PCA's compensation strategy. Principle Accountabilities:
-Provide program administration for the compensation processes of
merit, bonus, and equity awards. This includes all aspects from
system configuration and design to communication development and
end-user training. -Prepare and submit compensation survey
information on an annual basis to survey companies. -Study and
analyze market data and trends to assist in the determination of
salary grades and ranges to support the company's compensation
strategy. -Prepare and update job descriptions. -Maintain the
overall accuracy and integrity of employee compensation data within
the human resource management system (HRMS). This is completed via
generating and reviewing reports, maintaining and creating audit
procedures, reviewing salaried staffing requests, keeping abreast
of company changes that may impact the data and acting on
data/system errors to correct the information. -Management of PCA's
Long Term Equity Incentive Plan (LTEIP) through activity tracking
and reporting including being a resource for plan participants,
interacting with individual brokers, calculating taxable
compensation and taxes due, interfacing with payroll to ensure that
transactions are posted accordingly, and creating periodic
financial reports for the plan (monthly, quarterly and annually).
-Ensure LTEIP plan participants are in compliance with the
company's insider trading policy and process Section 16 Form 4
reporting when necessary. -Management of PCA's Deferred
Compensation Plan through activity tracking and reporting including
being a resource for eligible executive participants. -Produce
standard periodic and ad hoc reporting for other PCA departments
including but not limited to Finance, Tax, Proxy reporting, SEC
financial data requests, management and human resource field
reports, and preparation of data for executive board meetings.
-Know and follow policies and procedures of the company, share
information that would benefit other members of the team and find
ways to improve the delivery of service to our customers. -Strive

Making: The Compensation Specialist has access to sensitive and
confidential information and is expected to maintain and safeguard
this information at all times. The Compensation Specialist is
responsible for the collection and evaluation of detailed
information surrounding the compensation and jobs of the
organization. This individual will make recommendations for the
compensation processes to improve processes and/or overall service
delivery for the department. Interactions:
Internally, the Compensation Specialist interacts with associates
in all areas of the company including human resources, corporate
finance, plant management and finance, and local payroll
administrators, etc. The Compensation Specialist is expected to
develop solid working relationships with these individuals in order
to strengthen the compensation and human resources efforts
throughout PCA. Externally, the Compensation Specialist will
interact with PCA contracted service providers. Information is
typically provided to these individuals in an effort to streamline
operations or resolve issues. Position Requirements: -Education
equivalent to a bachelor's degree in business or human resources.
-Up to two years compensation analysis experience with basic
understanding of survey submission procedures and job matching.
-Prior human resource related work experience in employee
relations, benefits, recruiting, HR systems is preferred. -Previous
working knowledge of restricted stock administration preferred.
-Strong working knowledge of PC applications including an advanced
understanding of Word, Excel, and Outlook. Microsoft Access
knowledge is preferable. -Basic understanding of relational
databases and human resources management systems is preferred.
-Strong computer typing skills with a high degree of data accuracy.
-Strong attention to details. -Strong inter-personal skills with
the ability to communicate effectively in person and over the
phone. -Solid written and verbal communication skills with the
ability to communicate to multiple audiences and purposes. -Strong
appreciation for the retention and management of confidential
information. -Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and
handle multiple requests simultaneously. -Strong problem-solving
skills with the ability to create alternative solutions. -Strong
listening and evaluating skills. -Strong organizational skills.
-Previous work experience as a member of a team, or a strong
understanding of the importance of open communication and
information sharing between team members. -Able to work flexible
