Volt is immediately hiring for a Controller in Lake Forest, CA.

As a Controller you will:

Financial Reporting & Analysis:Preparing and analyzing financial reports for management.
Developing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and forecasts.
Performing budget vs. actual variance analysis.
Analyzing general and sub-ledgers.


General Ledger & Transaction Management:Maintaining accurate accounting records and reconciling accounts.
Preparing journal entries.
Reviewing and approving financial transactions (wire transfers, check runs).
Ensuring accurate GL postings.


Compliance & Auditing:Facilitating requests from external auditors, tax authorities, and bankers.
Maintaining and implementing accounting policies (US GAAP, ASC 606, ASC 842).
Managing sales and use tax compliance.
Leading annual physical inventories, and reviewing cycle counts.


Revenue & Cost Analysis:Analyzing engineering contract revenue and profitability.
Ensuring integrity of cost of goods.



Inventory & Cost Control Responsibilities:

Inventory Valuation:Ensuring accurate inventory valuation.
Maintaining standard costs and bills of materials (BOM).
Reconciling inventory variances.
Managing E&O and obsolescence reserves.
Updating WIP in ERP.


Cost Management:Developing and monitoring overhead labor and burden calculations.
Performing standard cost reconciliations and audits.
Assisting with inventory and project expense coding.



Operational & System Responsibilities:

ERP System & Process Improvement:Assisting with ERP system upgrades and enhancements.
Leading special projects and ad hoc requests.
Participating in daily operations meetings.



This is a full time, direct hire opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have:

Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
Industry Experience: Extensive (10+ years) finance/accounting experience in manufacturing or engineering, with strong US GAAP knowledge.
ERP Proficiency: Experience with large ERP systems, particularly JD Edwards Enterprise One. System implementation/upgrade experience is a plus.
Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Financial Acumen: Strong general ledger, reconciliation, and financial analysis skills.
Professional Skills: Self-motivated, detail-oriented, with excellent work ethic, organizational, time management, and communication skills.
Leadership & Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, lead projects, and interface with senior management.

Salary: $160,000 - $180,000/year

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
