- Director of Business Development (CA) Overview: AVL in Lake Forest, CA is searching for a motivated Business Development Director to add to our team. This Director of Business Development -will be responsible for market development through acquisition of customer projects. In addition, the position will set up long-term business relations with the customer and drive new sales. Qualified candidates must possess a bachelors degree and a minimum of 10 years relevant experience. In addition, experience in vehicle or electrification/other new technologies is preferred. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Employer will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa for this position. Roles:

  • Creates business plans for the sales area.
  • Coordinates middle and long term planning based on market potential with the President of PEI -and the Business Development Director for Electrification..
  • Implements the presales process.
  • Implements the sales process with support from the future project manager and the Technical team.
  • Develops customer profiles and applies the principle of strategic selling.
  • Obtains customer feedback.
  • Updates business figures (order receipt, sales) and carries out target - actual comparisons.
  • Works out and executes fiscal counter-measures in the case of deviations.
  • Creates offers and makes consistent follow-ups.
  • Supplies input to strategy team with respect to marketing targets (markets, customers, products and competitors).
  • Establishes, cultivates and expands positive customer relations.
  • Achieves targeted guidelines for sales, orders received and planned contribution margin.
  • Submits offers according to guidelines. Qualifications/Skills:
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related
    • 10+ years' experience in related field - electrification and vehicle experience preferred.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Demonstrated competence in communications and problem solving.
