JOB OVERVIEW The Associate Director, Global Market Intelligence works collaboratively with Management to track and analyze relevant market trends, market research (primary and secondary), and competitive intelligence to aid in informing the strategic decision-making of the organization. The individual conducts statistical analysis and generates summary reports to support market intelligence for the EVO and ICL global business. Function of the Position: The Associate Director, GMI role supports market intelligence and research activities by providing tracking, analysis and summary insights that will be utilized to support development of actionable recommendations. To track and analyze trends in relevant markets and with competitors, both existing and potential. The incumbent will design innovative analytic approaches to test hypotheses, extract actionable insights by identifying patterns in structured and unstructured data, and develop recommendations to drive business performance. The incumbent will be instrumental in leading the use of analytics as a critical value driver and source of competitive advantage within the organization. Apply advanced analytics techniques (core statistical-modeling, data visualization, data mining) to extract actionable insights through analysis of data. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the analytic needs across the business and provide accurate and actionable analysis to support their critical business decisions Shape the thinking of our teams by not only communicating the details of your analysis, but its business implications Develop dashboards to enable clear visibility into business performance Work to ensure accurate and up-to-date data power each analysis Roles and Responsibilities: Identify and track global trends that may impact STAAR---s business Track developments in global refractive market including patents, peer review publications and other relevant literature (MD and OD focus) Follow the refractive surgery competitive environment, technologies, and company developments to identify strategy, pricing levels, and regional trends Summarize insights for use in strategic planning and to support formulation of reports for Executive Leadership Team Digest new sources of data to support strategic marketing imperatives Work with Management to assist key internal stakeholders to support market intelligence needs identified Assist in the development and maintenance of summary reports that capture market intelligence insights and trending Continuously review relevant market research reports, data sets, models, and analysis to support knowledge base of refractive markets globally Work with Tableau and other software programs as needed to track/trend markets, results, competition, and surgeon trends Assist with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives in support of company charitable giving and volunteerism as needed Other duties as assigned EDUCATION & TRAINING -- Bachelor---s degree or equivalent combination of education/experience, advanced degree a plus EXPERIENCE -- Prefer 7-10 years of experience in market analytics and/or strategy consulting. SKILLS Demonstrated skills in defining problems, analyzing, and synthesizing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations Solid understanding and experience in the analysis of large data sets to develop insights and learnings Strong written and oral communications skills Intermediate to advanced skills with MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint Significant experience with Business Objects or other BI analytics tools (Tableau, Power BI) Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadline constraints Comfortable to identify and seek out new resources and networking opportunities to support market intelligence objectives Problem solving and solid analytical skills driving to meet project endpoints Able to operate within a team environment STAAR Surgical is an equal employment opportunity employer.
