Role: Responsible for complete management of designated product
line: product development, strategy formulation, business
management and product stewardship, including sales support and
training, product marketing activities, forecast, inventory and
operations performance (capacity, cost, pricing, etc), long-term
planning and budget planning. Responsible for complete management

The Product Manager and the Associate Product Manager should be
collaborating to succeed with Transceivers in IT Distribution, WDM
(Wave Division Multiplexing) Product Line, OLS (Open Line Systems)
Product Line, XGS-PON (10G Passive Optical Network) Product
Line.
The Associate Product Manager assists with the development of new
product concepts, designs, and/or enhancements to existing product
designs that reflect market and user requirements. Conducts
research and develops a good understanding of the customer's needs,
new technologies, trends in the market, and competitors. Develops
requirements documents, functional specifications, and mock-ups to
clearly illustrate product ideas and concepts. Participate in all
phases of the product development lifecycle, including analysis,
design, testing, and integration of products as well as the
introduction of products to the market. Member of a
cross-functional team that translates customer needs and technology
directions into product definitions. May participate in the
creation of documentation or user guides for new products.
Main Job Duties:
Product Development: field visits, meet with customers (channel,
specifiers, consultants, end-users), initiate research with
engineering and operations, etc ... to maintain a constant flow of
new products and product enhancements.
Business Management: sales support and training, respond to sales
questions, prepare major launches and sales events (Global Sales
Conference, Road Shows, etc), support pricing strategy, travel with
the sales team, and initiate and respond to training requests.
Strategy Formulation: lead the long-term vision for the designated
product line, ensuring sustainable revenue growth, market share,
and profitability, keep an eye on the market: attend trade events,
competitive benchmarking, develop multi-year product roadmaps based
on research into long-term trends & customer needs.
Product Stewardship: participate in catalog development, develop
sell sheets, product bulletins, and promotional campaigns with
sales and marketing team, and support product launches. Prepare and
lead SO&P meetings for the designated product line, monitor and
act on inventory levels, production capacity, service rates, and
production costs to meet or beat corporate targets.
Budget planning: monitor and review product line performance and
trends to evaluate budget
Performs other similar and related duties as required.
Job Type: This is a full-time, exempt position in a fast-paced,
team-oriented environment with a competitive salary, commission

Qualifications
Education: BS in Marketing or Engineering, Business or related
Experience: 3-5 years experience in marketing, engineering, or
related field. Specific technical knowledge of data center physical
infrastructure including racks, cabinets, power, airflow
management, and cooling, and general datacom industry knowledge and
experience is strongly desired.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close
attention to detail, and be able to effectively handle multiple
priorities.
Must possess excellent project management skills, including
demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a project plan,
establish priorities, work to deadlines and control a number of
projects at various stages of work.
Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing,
spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail, and meeting
management software. Ability to use the internet and web-based
resources efficiently and effectively.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be
able to communicate effectively across all levels of the
organization. Must be an effective listener, able to maintain
focus, extract the necessary information, and validate
understanding of the information.
Demonstrated ability to understand customers' needs and identify
new ways to serve/satisfy customers.
Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team-based
environment. Promotes an environment that encourages cohesiveness
and fosters trust and open communication with team, peers, and all
business partners.
Must have solid business acumen and understanding of a variety of
functional areas within the business. Must be proficient in
negotiation and influencing skills.
