seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as
the Director of Development. The ideal candidate is a strategic
thinker, has a deep understanding of the nonprofit sector, and
possesses excellent leadership skills. This position offers an

with a wide range of stakeholders, including board members,
sponsors, and donors. The ideal Director of Development is not in a
management role but is an Executive over partnerships and bringing
in grants for the organization. This is a true development person,
also focused on donor culture, stewardship, fundraising. The ideal
Director of Development is someone with a conservation nonprofit
background. This position is one that will be very hands on but is
also a role they are hiring for as a succession plan/long term
hire. This is currently a $3M nonprofit and will continue to grow
tremendously YOY. The ideal Director of Development can think
outside the box and is creative, as well as the go-to face for
donor development and relationship building. As this company is
very entrepreneurial, someone who can work in a fast paced
environment and thrive in organized chaos would be a perfect

vision. There is 10-25% travel for this role. The salary range
above only includes base salary. There are also bonuses based on

dollar up to 6%. Job Details Job Details: We are seeking an
experienced and dynamic Director of Development to join our
nonprofit! The chosen candidate will be responsible for leading and
managing the development department, ensuring that we maintain our
position at the forefront of the industry. The Director of
Development will work closely with our executive team, board
members, and other stakeholders to develop and implement strategies
that will help us achieve our financial and operational goals.
Responsibilities: Develop and implement a comprehensive development
strategy to include corporate, foundation, government grants, etc.
Manage all aspects of the fundraising process from identifying
potential donors to securing and managing grants. Oversee the
planning and execution of special events aimed at cultivating donor
relationships and increasing donor commitment. Work closely with
the Board of Directors to ensure good governance and ethical
practices. Collaborate with various departments to develop a
cohesive and effective fundraising strategy. Maintain and update
donor databases (preferably Salesforce) ensuring all data is
accurate and up-to-date. Develop and manage the development
department's budget. Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders,
sponsors, and donors. Stay updated on the latest trends and best
practices in nonprofit development and bring new ideas to the
organization. Qualifications: A minimum of 5 years of professional
experience in a nonprofit organization; demonstrated success in a
development function (managing and forging relationships with
multiple donor sources). Tangible experience of having expanded and
cultivated existing donor relationships over time. Excellent
communication skills, both written and oral; ability to influence
and engage a wide range of donors and build long-term
relationships. Strong organizational skills. Flexible and adaptable
style; a leader who can positively impact both strategic and
tactical fundraising initiatives. Ability to work both
independently without close oversight, but also a team player who
will productively engage with others at varying levels of seniority
within and outside the organization. Bachelor's degree required,
Master's preferred. High energy and passion for the organization’s
mission is essential. Ability to construct, articulate, and
implement annual strategic development plan. Strong knowledge and
experience with Salesforce. Customer focus. Must have experience in
managing and executing across several communications and
fundraising channels. Experience in grant management from
application to reporting. Experience in working with and motivating
