Responsibilities Pactiv Evergreen is currently looking for--a Senior Accounting Director to join our team at our location in Lake Forest, IL. General Summary:-- The Senior Accounting Director is a key contributor and leader in the Corporate Finance & accounting organization of Pactiv Evergreen Inc. (PTVE) and is responsible for External Financial reporting & compliance . This position reports directly to the VP & Chief Accounting Officer and assist and other related areas.-- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the SEC financial filing process and review SEC financial filings, including annual reports on Form 10-K and Form 11-K, quarterly reports on Form 10-Q, footnotes to the financial statements and Management Discussion and Analysis, and XBRL.
  • Present SEC filings for review to the Chief Financial Officer and other senior executives
  • Review and provide feedback on internal and external communications, including board and audit committee presentations and investor relations earnings releases, scripts, and presentations.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of internal controls/processes to ensure compliance with SOX 404 requirements.
  • Foster an accounting and reporting environment that is in strict accordance with effective internal controls over financial reporting, including running Disclosure Committee meetings.
  • Research technical accounting and SEC issues and communicate to senior management. Oversee implementation and application of technical accounting pronouncements, including application of complex accounting matters such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, acquisitions, joint ventures, share-based payments, debt and equity matters.
  • Establish and maintain accounting policies, leading practices and procedures to ensure US GAAP compliance
  • Oversee accounting and financial reporting for corporate level areas (debt, stock compensation.).
  • Develop a team of high-performing professionals that add-value and contribute to PTVE's success Qualifications
    • BA/BS in finance or accounting
    • Minimum--10 + years of related work experience required. Experience at a large, multi-national, corporation or at a public accounting firm strongly preferred
    • Minimum of 5 years' experience at a public Big 4 preferred.
    • CPA strongly preferred
    • Experience with large, automated financial systems (SAP, etc.)
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Comfortable communicating across different levels of the organization
    • Ability to work effectively and independently while managing concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities
    • Strong process skills with a demonstrated ability to drive change
    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and verbal forms; strong interpersonal skills, and organizational skills
    • Fully competent in MS Office including strong Excel, database, and query capabilities-- SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
