The Human Resources Team at Saddleback Church partners with staff members in the areas of employment, payroll, and benefits, ensuring employee welfare and relations are positive.The full-time Payroll /Accounts Payable Specialist will split their time between assisting with day-to-day payroll operations and Accounts Payable duties.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
* Process payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees ensuring the accuracy of data entry
* Monitor timely receipt of payroll documents from all departments
* Create pay data batches, verify and reconcile wages & hours; calculate timecards when needed
* System maintenance, including, but not limited to tax form processing, timekeeping input, and garnishment processing
* Process manual checks, as required
* Prepare various reports and censuses
* Respond to requests from employees and external agencies related to employment verifications, wage garnishments, tax information and agencies, state disabilities, unemployment claims, banks, and lending agencies, etc.
* Process invoices and check requests, verifying account cost center coding
* Obtain expense approvals from all levels of staff
* Review online expense reports for accuracy and compliance
* Protect the church by keeping financial information confidential

WHAT YOU'VE DONE:
* Minimum of 2years of large company automated payroll experience required
* Knowledge of payroll regulations and best practices
* Accounting experience/knowledge
* UltiPro experience is strongly preferred
* Proven success in multi-tasking and working well under deadlines
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of related experience preferred

Saddleback Church's pay philosophy is based on internal and external data for pay equity, along with budgetary considerations for effective stewardship. Pay will be provided at a range of $18 - $19.00 per hour. We will provide a pay rate that is within our salary structure and that fits a candidate's qualifications and experience for the job.
