The Director – EH&S will be responsible for managing and
executing EHS policies and procedures across the Oakley Foothill
Ranch (FHR) campus to ensure compliance to all applicable local,
state and Federal regulatory requirements.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop campus EHS strategy and oversee all policies and
procedures across the entire Foothill Ranch campus
Drive alignment along campus business units by creating an
EH&S plan to meet organization’s objectives.
Act as a strategic business partner, change agent, and trusted
member of the leadership team
Develops, recommends and implements programs to ensure
compliance with all applicable local, state and federal EHS
regulations including documentation, reporting, training, and
Monitor effectiveness of all EH&S policies, practices, and
processes to determine efficiency and effectiveness. Recommend
improvements to achieve and deliver improved results.
Facilitate organization and leadership development efforts to
address root causes of EH&S related issues. Coach Managers and
employees at all levels within campus business units on a variety
of environment health and safety topics.
Influence senior management across the campus to clarify and to
resolve business unit EH&S issues and improve overall EH&S
Lead, train, and develop of team of safety and environmental
Partner with corporate and other Luxottica EHS personnel in the
U.S. and globally to leverage global safety and environmental best
practices into the Oakley FHR campus.
Establish and build EHS metrics to provide leadership with
accurate reporting and metrics that support overall business
Manage activities for Worker’s Compensation claims, while
identifying root causes and prevent recurrence.
Interacts with external local State & Federal regulatory
Work with internal business partners regarding new product,
equipment and process introductions, various EHS initiatives as
well as programs and practices.
Experience implementing and maintaining ISO 14001, ISO 45001 at
a manufacturing or site.
BS/BA in safety, environmental, ergonomics or a related
10+ years of increasing responsibilities in safety and
environmental programs in manufacturing organizations
5+ years of experience leading and building effective teams
Expert knowledge of California local, state and Federal
regulatory requirements related to environmental, health & safety
Experience leading change in a large manufacturing environment
and managing multiple direct reports.
Written and verbal communication skills, including comfort
interfacing with Directors and VPs and other executive leaders
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience in a fast-paced, changing/growing organization
Handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful
Master’s degree in safety, environmental, ergonomics or a
Certified Safety Professional or other EHS certifications
