We're looking for a candidate to fill this position in an
Coordinates the training of resort staff as required, in proper
financial policies, controls and procedures.
Coordinates periodic unannounced on-site audits at the various
resorts including reviewing policies and procedures, auditing cash
on hand, and supplies and inventories.
Obtains bids and Independent Auditor retention agreement for
Boards of Directors. Accommodates independent accountants selected
by Boards of Directors and supports Independent auditors needs and
requirements to independently Audit, Review or Compile year end HOA
financial statements and prepare tax returns.
Oversees and coordinates the preparation and distribution of all
Association budgets in accordance with VRI’s recommended format.
Guides and directs the Vice Presidents and Senior Managers of
Financial Services in assembling data, utilizing reserve studies,
coordinating the budgeting process with Directors of Resort
Operations, Resort Managers and Association Board members. Attends
budget approval Board meetings as needed.
Assists Board on various special projects as needed and assists
Board members in reading and understanding monthly financial
reports, customized reports, and annual operating budgets.
Always thinking of ways to improve or streamline existing
systems, policies and procedures. Includes modifications to the
policy and procedures manual to improve systems or address new
Investigates and analyzes new and innovative ideas to improve
cost savings or enhance revenues.
Involved with any and all special projects as required, when
College graduate, preferably with a CPA license. Education and
experience demonstrating a broad understanding of accounting
principles in the vacation ownership industry. Excellent
organizational and supervisory skills, hands-on leadership
experience with medium to large accounting departments and a
history of creating a cohesive, supportive and productive work
environment for all direct reports. A strong background in
accounting with an accounting firm specializing in the vacation
ownership industry, resort property management firm, or some type
of real estate development organization. Ability to coordinate the
operation of a large multi-faceted Financial Services department.
Knowledge of automated accounting systems, spreadsheet programs,
word processing programs and experience with on-line software
packages. Fluent in English and Spanish. Possesses superior
communication and customer service skills that reflect VRI’s
ethics, mission, vision and values.
