Tenneco Inc. has recently acquired Federal-Mogul. The strategic combination of Tenneco’s Ride Performance business with Federal-Mogul’s Motorparts business will establish a global aftermarket leader with an impressive portfolio of some of the strongest brands in the aftermarket including Monroe®, Walker®, Wagner®, Champion®, Fel-Pro® and MOOG®. The company’s broader aftermarket product coverage, stronger distribution channels, and enhanced channel development will strengthen its position in established and high growth markets (China and India), and drive success through new mobility models and capturing evolving e-commerce opportunities. We are looking for a Global Compliance Director. Regarding Global Compliance, this role has broad responsibilities at both enterprise level and business unit level for driving and enabling the strategic development and execution of Tenneco’s ethics & compliance program. Key responsibilities include: coordinating compliance assessments, communications and procedures; managing the Company's Ethics Hotline; third party due diligence, and, conducting and coordinating compliance investigations and training. This person will have corporate, transactional and commercial law experience, including in the following areas in North America or Europe and be able to assist the commercial team in items such as commercial contracts, global supply chain, joint ventures and strategic partnerships, and intellectual property matters. The team is ready to act immediately on those candidates who are the best fit for the role. You’ll first hear from someone in Talent Acquisition to schedule a phone screen, and then the next step will be a personal interview with our Hiring Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES: Independently lead and manage cross-functional projects relating to compliance initiatives to educate on legal requirements, mitigate risk, assess compliance; to design and implement systems and controls; and, to implement continuous improvement. Foster a culture of compliance through periodic, in-person training and leadership communications on various topics and Tenneco Shared Values. Drive holistic, global compliance strategy using expertise in analytical approach to risk and data analysis from hotline and other sources. Manage the hotline system and lead the process to provide a global vehicle for anonymous reporting of concerns, to ensure that each hotline call is investigated appropriately in a timely manner by the appropriate partner (Law, Internal Audit, HR, etc.), to properly escalate issues, and to ensure remedial actions are adequately documented. This includes leading continuous improvement of processes to update the system and investigation procedures. Assist with investigations of sensitive or high risk matters that are not appropriate to be performed regionally. Build relationships with stakeholders that instill and deliver confidence. Assist in developing and updating the Company's Code of Ethics and global compliance policies, compliance procedures and controls, and related deployment plans. Conduct third party due diligence Drive the development of global ethics and compliance training, including developing new courses with our external training vendor, managing the roll-out of new courses and overseeing the tracking of course completions. Review reports of alleged noncompliance with Company policies and coordinate investigations to ensure they are completed promptly and effectively and that investigations and remedial actions are properly documented and are sufficient. Develop and coordinate Corporate Compliance communications, including developing global communications and presentations to internal stakeholders such as Senior Management and the Board Audit Committee. Required Experience Education: Degree from Accredited Law School. Skills & Experience: 10 years experience practicing corporate law, including some experience working in-house. Qualified to practice law in applicable jurisdiction (dual qualification in the United States preferred). Experience interacting at senior level with business management. Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills, including experience leading cross-functional teams on long-term projects.
