The Project Leader will plan, direct, manage the new product and
sustaining development processes. Provide leadership working with
global cross-functional team members with emphasis on meeting key
metrics and objectives (quality, cost and duration). The ideal

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
(100%) Project Leader - New Product Introductions and Sustaining
Oversee and lead global projects with cross functional team,
working towards the common goal of introducing new or changing
products with focus on meeting key metrics including but not
limited to cost, quality and timing.
Collaborate with cross functional departments such as Engineering,
Manufacturing Sites, Industrial Design, Packaging, Sourcing, Supply
Chain, Quality, Finance and Marketing.
Assure manufacturing process capabilities are evaluated,
communicated and integrated into the overall product design
(DFM...Design for Manufacturability).
Develop and execute manufacturing plans for new products.
Maintain communication channels with plant management staff and NPI
team leaders regarding project status and network/production
Support adherence to the global new product and sustaining
roadmaps, project milestone process and metrics.
Manages/reports out on projects in all areas including funding,
product costs, product quality, productivity, safety, ergonomic,
environmental, space and timing limitations.
Execute risk management via identification, quantification,
response development and control.
Report out monthly to Senior Management at Product Development
Education and Experience Profile
7-10 years plus combined electronic manufacturing, engineering,
operations, sourcing, purchasing, with proven negotiating
Minimum 5 years of project management experience in the Electronics
Industry driving New Product Introductions or Sustaining
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical, or
equivalent. Master's in Engineering or MBA preferred.
PCB, PCBA, SMT, Electrical Test, Functional test experience
PMP - Project Management Certification Preferred
Must be able to thrive in a team-based, Matrix environment.
Able to travel (sometimes on short notice) as required by various
Working knowledge of project milestones methodology
Project management utilizing Microsoft Project or similar
Proactive problem-solving identification; solving problems with the
ability to assess risk/benefit and to act decisively on

Develop all needed manufacturing capital plans. Assure unit cost
estimates are realistic and accurate. Track and control project to
Capital and Expense plan ownership.
Project Communication Management
Communications planning, information distribution, performance
reporting and administrative closure
Keep organization appraised of project status through concise
reporting methods, especially at monthly Product Development
Project Procurement Management
Procurement planning; Solicitation planning; solicitation;
Source selection; Contract administration and close out
Assure parts logistics network is as simplified as possible and
aligned with HHI Operational strategy. Coordinate with Sourcing
team to assure an understanding of project scope and ownership of
Project Integration Management
Project plan development, execution and overall change
Develop and execute detailed project plans including the various
plant and distribution centers. Manage changes that arise during
Project Scope Management
Project initiation; scope planning, definition, verification and
Clarify the original expectations of each project with impacted
plants. Obtain their buy-in. Assure that any changes to this scope
are understood and accepted by all impacted groups.
Project Quality Management
Quality planning, assurance and control
Coordinate with Quality team to assure an understanding of project
scope and ownership of quality plans.
