Accounts Payable Manager - Consultant

Job Description:

Vaco has a large healthcare client seeking to hire an Accounts Payable Manager for their Lake Forest, CA location. Ideal candidates will have previous experience managing an Accounts Payable department with previous implementation and Workday experience strongly preferred. This would be a remote consulting engagement looking to move fast. Responsibilities include:

  • Reviews and settles, ACH, Wire, and Check payments to vendors
  • Coordinates stop and void payment actions with the appropriate accounting and departmental staff
  • Reviews list of outstanding checks monthly and coordinates void and/or reissue of checks
  • Ensures prompt notification to all appropriate staff of failed/unsuccessful payment or transfer requests
  • Maintains real-time relationship with the external AP bank account representative
  • Serves as a co-security administrator for the AP bank accounts
  • Oversees all supplier statements and assists in the review of unpaid invoices
  • Provides excellent customer service and follows up to close out all open supplier issuesREQUIREMENTS:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration, with a focus in Accounting required
    • Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience required
    • Experience with leadership role and managing staff
    • Demonstrated organizational and process flow skills including accounts payable and general ledger work
    • A demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and to see issues through to resolution
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills for interacting with vendors, support personnel, and management
    • Experience with Workday Financials Accounting System strongly preferred
    • Previous implementation experience preferredJob Requirements:Our Accounts Payable Manager must have an associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, and five or more years of AP experience. You will need one or more years of leadership experience overall. Additional requirements include: --- Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles and accounting software --- Must have large ERP (AP) system experience as well as 1099 filing experience --- Computer proficiency and business solutions software skills --- Strong planning, organizational, and prioritizing skills
