  • This is a hybrid position where you can work up to two days in your home office, if you choose, and three days on site (required) with the team. YOUR JOB:Reporting to the Business Applications Development Supervisor and working under minimal supervision, you will be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of enterprise computer applications. In executing your work, you will use a variety of languages, platforms, and tools per prescribed standards/procedures and within established time frames. You will serve as a liaison across all business areas, and perform analysis independently, or as directed by a project lead, to support the preparation of functional specifications for computer application development, or to support research and problem resolution and lead IT projects. A sampling of your responsibilities includes:
    • Performing impact analysis for proposed system changes
    • Analyzing systems to determine process flow and functionality
    • Preparing clear and accurate functional specifications for development by others
    • Developing and executing test plans that optimize cost efficiency with risk tolerance.
    • Design computer systems that are efficient, functional, scalable and maintainable.
    • Acting as project lead on small to medium scope projects, as required
    • Interacting with and challenging the project requestor, as needed, to determine and document project requirements from the business perspective
    • Preparing system documentation, including process flow and data flow diagrams, and system or change design recommendations
    • Providing accurate development time estimates to Project Lead and proactively identify/communicate risk to previously established timelines
    • Preparing weekly status reports and completing other administrative tasks in the manner and timeframe prescribed by the Business Applications Development Supervisor
    • Representing Kawasaki in a positive and professional manner when interacting with business partners, customers and contractors
    • Preparing, providing and/or presenting training materials for system users. YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:To be a strong fit for the Systems Analyst role, you will have:
      • 7+ years of programming experience, preferably with common enterprise business applications (e.g., sales, distribution, inventory management, finance)
      • A bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four-year university or college is highly preferred
      • Relevant certifications are an advantage
      • Understanding and experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile Development Methodologies
      • Understanding and experience with Multitier Application Architecture, Relational Database Management System (RDMS) and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
      • High proficiency with software development platforms, languages and tools in use by Kawasaki including many/most of the following:
        • ASP.NET MVC
        • C#
        • Object-oriented Development
        • Development of Windows Desktop applications
        • .NET 4.0+ Framework
        • Microsoft IIS web server
        • Apache web server
        • Microsoft SharePoint
        • Team Foundation Server or equivalent source repository usage methodology
        • Informatica ETL /PowerCenter
        • HTML, HTML5, PHP, CSS, BootStrap
        • Javascript
        • VBScript
        • Powershell
        • Visual Studio
        • MS SQL and MySQL (Database/Table design, Queries & Stored Procedures)
        • Oracle (Queries & Stored Procedures)
        • Microsoft SSIS
        • Cognos Reporting
        • Cognos Framework Manager
        • SAP ABAP / NetWeaver
        • Microsoft Office Suite, MS-Visio, MS-Project
        • Familiarity with Cloud based solutions
        • Schedule flexibility and the ability to be on call for off hours support every four to five weeks. When handling on-call responsibilities, you may directly handle issues or contact other team members following escalation procedures. In addition, you will need the following core competencies and characteristics:
          • Excellent oral and written communication skills to work effectively and respectfully with multiple internal and external stakeholders (project lead, business analysts, peers, support staff, management, users and external business partners)
          • Demonstrated ability to successfully prioritize and organize multiple, competing tasks
          • Extremely detail and deadline oriented
          • Energy and enthusiasm in group/team efforts
          • Ability to work both independently and as an effective member of a team
